In addition to the satisfaction of helping ensure that important chapter functions and activities are carried out, you’ll have opportunities to interact with colleagues and develop professional skills. As so many committee volunteers have discovered, you’ll get more out than you put in!

Hospitality: selects locations and makes arrangements for dinner meetings
Program: decides on topics and speakers and organizes meeting programs
Tours: organizes visits to member libraries and other related organizations
Professional Development: organizes continuing education programs
Bayline: edits and produces chapter newsletter
Government Relations: monitors and reports on relevant legislation
Strategic Planning: directs long-range chapter planning
Vendor Relations: contacts vendors for support of chapter activities, including soliciting ads for the chapter newsletter and membership directory
Jobline: updates job listings on Web site and phone line
Web: maintains and develops chapter Web site
Academic Relations: coordinates activities with students in relevant local programs
Archives: maintains chapter documents of historical importance
Nominating: solicits and selects candidates to serve on SLA-SF committees and executive board
